My new avatar is Ginny and she lives in Nova Scotia.  She nearly turned herself inside out when I arrived at the house!  Sorry, I forgot to crop it before sending it to MS and now that I did, MS won't accept it for some reason.  Oh well.
Yep, I'll settle from the toes up as long as the feeling keeps coming back.

Hi back Gen.

Judy...Ginny is so cute and I know she's "Grandma's girl."  When I used to tell my sammies that Grandma was here, they'd tear to the front door and watch through the screen for her.  So cute and I only wish I had a picture of that.

ok, back with a few photos...

the very lovely Rumba:

Locked on to the jump:

The proud papa filming. I felt very stalkerazzi-ish:

It was a little surprising to see that they won their first class and took a red in the second (read: Politics). There were 2 horses that were absolutely spectacular. Rumba looked a bit lazy on the flat but playful after most of the jumps. He was on auto-pilot and clearly loves his job. It was so nice to see him in action.

There was a young horse that lost his mind in the ring. It was pretty scary. The kid stayed on for a while but when he headed for a wall, she gave in (she wasn't hurt). The horse tore around that ring in a panic and we were worried he'd jump out of the ring. Some brave (or dumb?) woman jumped in front of him as he was headed for the 3ft in-gate. Fortunately, he stopped. Before he was even out of the ring, the next rider went in. I guess the commotion distracted her trainer because they forgot to take his wraps off. Wouldn't ya know it...He had a perfect round. I heard the judge say "what a shame". Wonder if she would have pinned this horse above Rumba.

In spite of all the lovely horses, my favorite duo of the day were these two who wandered away from the wedding they were attending to watch the horses:

I love the wedding duo.

Lisa, that is a fabulous photo of the grampa and child.  Absolutely one of the very best photos I have ever seen!

Rumba's new girl looks really good on him..and he clearly looks happy.  Thanks for sharing...but the whole politics thing is why I actually prefer the jumper ring.  Glad nobody was hurt in the mind blow!  Poor horse...poor girl, too, but how many times do we see something like that happen and the horse is condemned forever because of it?

What a race!  I watched the replay (THANKS, KIM!) and  wow  I love, love, love, Rachel A, but I have to say I believe Zenyatta deserves HOTY honors.

I spent the day in the wonderful outdoors with my beautiful boy.  Started with the Veteran's Day Parade this morning in Pueblo (complete with a fly-over buzz from 2 Apaches...THAT got me started!) and finished with a trip to the AF Academy for game day activities.  Since they were playing Army we were assured of more aircraft.  Luke's just as crazy about planes as I am (he didn't stand a chance), so it was perfect.  He even had the chance to climb into the cockpit of an Apache helicopter because of me forgetting the main road would be blocked and push you into stadium parking!!  What a fantastic result to a bit mistake!  Funny, too, considering we were heading to the visitor's center because I wanted to get something for him.  We watched it take off and headed out.  Ended up at the BX instead and he's happily sleeping with part of his treasure from today.  I love that I have a child who's crazy about horses and aircraft.  It makes my antics seem so much more normal!

Not sure how long I'll be here.  I'm actually tired enough to go to sleep after the news tonight....odd Smiley

Just for fun, here's some of the day's highlights for us:

Apaches over Pueblo:

F-15E's flying over the AF Academy to start the Air Force vs. Army game:

Momma and Luke hanging out on the deck of an Apache.  Luke was whimpering b/c he was scared he was going to fall (thanks to the pilot, CW2 Anderson, for saying "hey, I'll take a picture of you two!):

Luke just before climbing into the cockpit...I wasn't going to take my eye off of him for a millisecond in this bird (the most expensive of all helo's) for a cockpit shot, no way!  My dad didn't do it with us, and Luke is at least as bad about "hey, how do I get this thing to fly" as my big bro and I were (we're AF brats):

I love that Luke's getting at least a little chance like this.  My brother and I grew up with F-105's and F-16C/D's, so it's deeply ingrained....like I said, poor kid didn't stand a chance!  Smiley

Thanks for letting me share Smiley

wow wow wow Lisa...You caught some phenomenal pictures and that is one gorgeous horse!!!!!  So cool that you caught proud Dad filming and oh, that gentleman with the little guy.  I sure hope you found out who they were so they could have that picture.

Denise...You had the perfect day...a day outside with the Little Man, a parade and plenty of aircraft.  You exude happiness in your story.  Love the picture of you and Luke and Luke trying to climb in.

Thank you both for sharing fantastic pictures!

Good morning everyone, lovely pictures to wake up to!

Jingles for Suerte. She definitely likes to make sure you visit her regularly to pay your respects to her! lol.

I have had a bit of a rough week with the dog... He has been marking on things in the house. Everyone is telling me he will stop once he has his surgery. I really hope so, because I can not handle running around behind him peeing on all of our belongings when I'm not looking. He also chewed through the pull cord of the lawn mower. I am hoping it will be an easy fix to repair. That one is my fault for leaving it where he could get to it. The cats are getting closer and closer to him and things in that department seem to be going well. Lucky did attack him the other day after I yelled and popped the dog for peeing on something and he wouldn't put his leg back down. The cat heard the dog yelp, and leaped into mommy's kitty body guard mode... Then Maddy came in to help when she heard the commotion, and they both helped me chase him outside. *rolls eyes* I am going to call the vet first thing tomorrow to get his snip snip scheduled.

Annie is still going fabulously. Between her chiro work and mine (and me riding more effectively as well)... We are making huge improvements! We may do a little schooling show before the year is up... or not... Not sure at this point..

Ok, gotta go put the dog's food out and head to work. Hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday!

Good morning!  Thanks for the link to Quality Road, Kim.  Those gate guys are fearless.  He was offering some very determined kicks and they just kept trying.  That sure was an exciting race.  I am sorry I missed it.  Thanks again for the links.

Denise - it sounds like you two had the perfect day.  The photos are wonderful.  It must be a relief he is passed his 'no mommy' phase.

Poor Megan.  Hopefully the snipping helps with the marking.  Good thing you have kitty back up.
