Craig lost his cell phone, and until he gets it replaced in about a week or so, the 2nd number no longer works! But you can call his work cell number which is 602-692-0495. The 4199 number is my cell and is still fine to use Smiley

My cam is back on! Smiley For CheyAut Ranch's 2nd and final foal of the year.
http://www.marestare.com/cam.php?alias=cheyaut

HRK Kates Chocolat Creme de Coco, aka Cocoa, AMHA/AMHR silver buckskin dun mare:

In foal to our National Top Ten stallion VFG El Arlequin, aka Spin, AMHA/AMHR/FBR black leopard appy:

For those of you who have watched my cam... Cocoa is the mother to Sierra (CheyAuts Perfect Attraction) who was born on marestare last year, and Spin is the sire to Shakespeare (CheyAuts ToBe Or Not ToBe) who was born to Sage here on Marestare this past April.

Of course, I'm hoping for spots! Smiley Cocoa is Ee Aa Zn Crn and Spin is Ee aa, so the color possibilities are huge! Anyone wanna take a guess?

In a minute I'll post some belly and udder shots...

***We are in the midst of Monsoon Season here in Az. That means severe thunderstorms take place often, in the evening/night. Because of this, the camera may be turned off. We are also in the summer of course (never meant for a foal this late!) so it gets HOT during the day! The computer that the camera connects to has to be in our laundry room (that's where the cam cord reaches) and it's not insulated so gets very hot in there. So I will often have the cam off during the day as well. When she is CLOSE I will leave it on.***

I do not mind false alarm calls. If you think she's in labor, please call!!! However, I dont' always answer the phone, so leave a message please. If I don't answer, it doesn't mean I don't hear it, the first thing I will do is check the camera. But you can also call hubby. Both our numbers are on the cam page. But here as well: My cell is 602-989-4199 and Craig's is 623-694-4313.  You can text me as well if you have texting capabilities.

When our mares are in labor, we hang out outside, a little distance from their pens. We can watch them, but far enough that we don't disturb them. When they are down and really going for it and/or their water breaks, I (or Craig if I'm on my way home from work!) go in the stall to check everything is ok. So remember, we stay out of the stall at first, but doesnt' mean we're not there Smiley I work nights, 7 on/7 off. At work I can watch via my laptop, but it doesn't always keep an internet connection (via aircard, can't watch from the work computers anymore). When she is CLOSE Craig will sleep at the foot of the bed to get the best view of the monitor (he always does lol) and wakes constantly. During my off week I sleep at night, but again will wake up constantly to check. I will keep an update of which week it is on here, so extra help is really nice on my off week at night! (help is great at all times though of course)

Welcome back! I loved watching Sage back in April. I will have your cam up and watching Cocoa, it's nice watching a cam in the same state.  Running for joy

I was comparing Cocoa udder photos to last year. Her udder today is actually fuller than a photo I took only 5 hours before foaling last year!  thud thud thud

So I will for sure be doing my best to keep this cam on 24/7 for now!

Ok for a comparison, this is 5 hours prior to foaling last year:

This was 5 days ago (308 days)

And today (313 days)

I'm about to go to bed, Craig will be home in a few hours.

I was just wondering the other day when Ms. Cocoa was going to be on cam!  And there she is! WHEEEE! Smiley  And good grief, she looks like she's  swallowed an extra large watermelon - her belly is HUGE!  I can't wait to see what she's got cookin' in there!

Awww, you guys are so sweet! Smiley

Nova Lee, you made me think of my goaties lol they are all named after candies (Twix, Reeces, Raisinette, Cadburry, M&M, Starburst, Butterscotch and Skittles lol) Smiley and you made me hungry hehe! Smiley

It's funny, Cocoa' didn't even look pregnant a month ago Wink She likes to wait until the last minute to get her belly hehe Smiley

Evening check, her bag was down a lot, more where I expected it to be compared to how it was yesterday (really not much different than the 5 day ago photos yesterday, but tonight it's still much improved over that.... nipples are pointing inward now though). So shouldn't be this weekend, although who knows with mares, right? Smiley

And the reason she's due so late in the year... I bred her back in, oh, May I think. She seemed to be pregnant, teasing her didn't get any response, so I figured she was. DUH I totally forgot that's Cocoa: She DOESN"T show when she's in season! So September I had her out with Spin, and, well... they were "playing" LOL! (Spin is who I bred her to in May as well, so that's fine!). So hopefully it won't be SUPER hot when the foal is born, but we'll see! I can put a fan and mister out there if need be, and the stall is fully covered so baby won't be in the sun.

If storms get bad tonight I will have Craig turn off the computer. Right now there's no sign of storms, but monsoons like to come in quickly to surprise you (did last night) so you never know.

She sure is a beauty and the sire reminds me of our stallions's sire, Grosshill's Crazy Horse, a black spotted appaloosa.  Our stallion's dam is buckskin and Rolo, our stallion, is 3 years old now and is changing from buckskin to being buckskin with some dark spots on his rump and some white spots on his shoulders and sides.  Going to be interesting as to what Cocoa's little one will look like.  Praying for a safe and healthy foaling.

SomeDay, he's cute, like your avatar pic Smiley

Cam is off for the day, I will turn it on before I leave for work tonight. Udder is slightly (very slightly) fuller than yesterday evening, but still nothing compared to the photos from yesterday morning. I just hope she goes before August 14th because we have tickets to see Toby Keith! LOL
