Hi Shannon from your neighbor in ND, we know how you feel and what you are going thru, it is amazing, a person waits from the first breeding of the mare anxiously until foaling, and then things like this happen, I guess that is what makes miniatures so special, by what the we go thru as owners with these little sweet buggers, take care, and we are thinking of you and knowing how hard it is, tami

Shannon - I am in tears typing these words - I do know how you feel - I know that the pain you are going through - and my heart is with you.  You tried so very hard to save Lakota and her filly - and it sounded so promising because the filly was a fighter.  But she was so little - and had the odds against her - although so many of us were praying for her to make a full recovery.
I am now focusing on my prayers for Lakota - every day she will get stronger - and you will have her home with you soon.
Hugs to everyone at Rivendell.

BIG Hug! BIG Hug! BIG Hug! Boo Hoo Boo Hoo pray pray pray

Hi All,

Thank you thank you thank you for all the kinds words, I could not make it through times like this without you all!!  MareStare and the people envolved are such a blessing.

As for my dear Lakota she is home and doing well.  She is irritated and missing her baby.  She is not in the barn and on cam.  The vet advised me to put her out and let her move around to keep her gut going.  Her bag is HUGE!!  Which Is causing her discomfort.  I may not be able to stand not keeping a eye on her and bring her in the barn later.  BUT, I have to do whats best for her, not me.

I am so glad that Lakota is home now.  Sounds like she will be fine - and once her bag starts disappearing she will resume normal "horse" life.  I think that she will recover much quicker than you will Shannon.  Time will help heal your broken heart - and we are all thinking about you and praying that each day will get a little easier.
Hugs.
