Right now (1:09 AM EST) there are two backbone providers out, that are affecting the main web site for most people.
The message board (sans ads) and the chat seem to be up for most.
DON'T REFRESH YOUR CAM PAGES! If they drop, click Stop then Play to get them to come back. If they don't right away, leave them for a minute or two and try again.
This afternoon, around 2ish EST, another backbone provider was out, causing issues reaching the message board and the chat.

Several most 'critical' mares and babies have a link in their thread to open the cam in a separate player window. Copy the link and paste it into a browser window. This will open a direct link with the player. This will only work if you have the standalone player installed. Get it here: http://www.umediaserver.net/download.htmlDownload the Streaming Media Player.

This solution is not workable if you use Firefox.
It works in an IE window.

I've fixed that, but please note that Morability's cam is off line right now anyway.

I like to have never got back into the message board. Now in here, can't get any of the new directed cam links to work. Not sure what's wrong on my end. It pops up another window that then acts like it's connecting but gives me an error message. (can not resolve media Server IP Address)

copy and paste the link into a browser window. It doesn't seem to work by direct clicking (which is why I didn't go out of my way to make them links.)
Also, if you don't have the standalone player installed it won't work.

UPDATE:
It seems that a Time Warner tech has cut the main fiber optic grid around the Dallas/Fort Worth area, not only severing our web host, but also several thousand Time Warner customers in that area. These people have no internet, no phone, and no TV. To top it all off, not only did he take out the primary loop, but he took out the backup as well.
If you know anything about fiber optic cable, you know that you can't just splice it back together. Time Warner is giving NO estimate on when it will be back up.

I did the same thing I did last night and was successful with getting some of the cams up. Thank you for the updates on what happened. Hopefully Time Warner comes up with a quick solution to this outage. Sure sounds like a certain Time Warner tech will be looking for a new job today too. Added: Just as I posted this... The server is back up and running..

Whew! I'm so glad you all are back!!! I couldn't get anything to come up at all from sometime in the 10 pm hour PST to 1 am PST, at which point I went to bed so not sure when things came back up. I couldn't get the main website or message board at all. My cams were still going until I stupidly tried rebooting thinking it was my computer. Ugh! I did try some other websites first and they were slow to load, so that's why I thought it was my computer. Now that I've read what happened, those websites were probably hosted through the Time Warner grid too. I knew it had to be something major if ALL the servers were down or couldn't be reached, not just individual ones. I've always assumed the backbone companies had things set up so this sort of thing couldn't happen where the primary and backup loops could be taken out in one blow.
