I would like to address several of the issues raised over the last several months if I may:

We have now put a clock with the local time at the farm on each cam page. Now you can see at a glance what the date and time is at the location you want to call.

The problem with putting country codes and calling information on the phone numbers is that different countries use different dialing rules. So not only would we have to know where the farm is (which is easy) but we would also have to know WHERE THE VIEWER IS (not easy at all.) You should know the international dialing rules for your location, if you plan to call any cam owners in other countries.

We have never put the farm location on the cam page, mostly due to privacy reasons. However, it would be trivial to do so, IF ALL THE OWNERS AGREE that they would like to have the info appear on the cam page. I know it's not a problem for most farms, as they have web sites with their addresses and phone numbers on them. They are running businesses after all. But not all cams are business ventures, and not all are at business locations. Some are in people's houses.

If you are a cam owner and would like this information on your cam pages, let me know. I could put the Country only, State/Province and Country (this may be a bit inconsistent for some of the international cams), City, State/Province and Country, or full address on the page. If there is enough interest FROM THE OWNERS in having the info on the cam pages, I can run a poll to see what the most popular arrangement would be. I would of course make it possible for a cam owner to opt out of having the address on the cam page, but not by individual field; it would be whatever level of detail the voters decide, or nothing.

We have a website. I wouldn't mind having our country/state on our cam page. We usually used " located in central Illinois" It ould be fun to see a world map with all the mare stare cam locations pinned to it:)

I'd be fine with my Country, Province, and closest major city on my cam page. Frankly, the area code and prefix of my phone number tells all that information anyways to someone who wants to go through the effort of looking Smiley So I may as well post it!

I would like to have my city & state posted on the cam page (Elizabeth CO) - I think it helps people who are watching and wondering whether it's  Frozen  and  Blizzard  or   breeze   LOL!

My cam will not be back up until summer when we have another litter, but I too would like my general area, closest major city & state (Albany, NY) up on my cam page.

I would be fine with Pilot Point, TX on my cam page.  I also welcome the calls.  If you catch me in the middle of the night, I might be a little short, but I don't mean to be disrespectful, just usually in a hurry to get outside!  I also don't mind texts or emails.  I have a Blackberry and it is with me ALL THE TIME.  I can't answer my phone at work - but can respond to texts, emails or IM's.  I have had viewers text me and that is great!  I really do appreciate the extra eyes!  They have saved one of my horses from colicing and have woke me twice when I've dozed when mares are foaling.  This is why I have my cams on the internet!  Thanks again!

HI, as you know, we so appreciate any calls we get or even having the peace of mind knowing there might be some more eyes or minds out there that are sharper than ours when we lack sleep etc, or been up for what seems days at a time, ha, but anyway, we have no problem with having our names, and the state listed, along with any other info such as the three phone numbers we can be reached at, thanks again Heather, RIch and the rest of the Marestare family for the unbelievable service you offer, We will be in full force around mid march to early april, Tami

In response to this thread,  we are first time users of Mare Stare, and the whole reason that we joined was for the benefit of our little mare. Last year she aborted her colt about 2 months out. He was completely backwards, and she was unable to deliver on her own. We ended up making an emergency run to the vet and having to help her untwist the baby and deliver. Afterwards she did not get rid of her placenta for 7 days. There were a lot of sleepless nights, with shots every four hours, and daily flushing until she finally expelled the placenta at about 2am on day 8.  This is her 2nd and last chance to have her first baby, but you can understand our extreme nervousness and fear as we draw closer and closer to her estimated March 29 due date. Please call, at any time, for any reason. This is our first baby, and most of you know far more about what constitutes an emergency that we do, and that's the reason we are here!  I can't promise that a response to a dead of night call will be particularly articulate, and if we hang up on you, CALL BACK!!! (I've been known to hang up on calls thinking they were my morning alarm  oops ) But no one calling with a false alarm will get any ire here!

Rich where do we stand on this issue?

I too think it would be great to know the location of the cam we are watching. Even the state and country, or equivalent in other countries would be interesting.

By sorting the cam list by location, you can also see where cams are located.
